Ministries and Services Through its Ministries and Parish programs, Holy Family Catholic Church offers each member the opportunity to grow in their Christian faith as well as grow within the Parish community. The ways in which parish members can serve are as numerous as they are varied: choose to serve at daily and Sunday Masses, serve the Parish community and or serve the community in which we live. Some of these opportunities are listed below:
Prayer – The Angelus is recited before every Mass for the intention of increasing vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life. Daily Rosary is recited Monday-Saturday at 7:35am in the Church. Attend First Friday Benediction at 7:00pm monthly and pray the Stations of the Cross (during Lent Fridays at 7:00pm) any time in the Church or at our Outdoor Stations located next to the "Our Lady of Guadalupe" Shrine.
Eucharistic Adoration - You are invited to worship Our Lord, present in the Eucharist, in our Eucharistic Adoration Chapel (located to the left of the Church veranda) from 6:00am - midnight - Monday-Friday; from 6:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays; and from 2:00pm - midnight on Sundays. Jesus waits for you to spend a quiet hour with HIM!
Liturgical Ministries – Many groups of people are needed to help with daily and/or weekly liturgies: from cleaning Altar Linens, to Altar Flower Arranging, serving as Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors and Ushers - these are many areas that require varied talents.
Music Ministries - Cantors - Adults or youth to assist with congregational singing as Mass. Adult Choir - Rehearses Thursdays 7-8:30pm in the Church, Sept-May and sings weekly at the 11:15am Mass. Instrumentalists also enhance our music ministry. Contact our Director of Music, music@holyfamilyhhi.org.
Religious Education – Assisting in the presentation to our children of the basics of the Catholic Faith is very important work. The school year program along with Summer Bible Camp helps increase in our children their knowledge of Catholicism. The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program walks many through the path of learning the faith. Adult Education and Scripture Study increase knowledge of the faith for those who have received the Sacraments of Initiation. Contact our Director of Religious Education, education@holyfamilyhhi.org.
Youth Ministry – Programs for youth, grades 6-12. Contact the parish office, 785-2895. Hispanic Ministry - Provides ESL classes, Kid's Day celebration, weekly rosary recitation, Serenade to Our Lady of Guadalupe, job and educational assistance and family counseling services to assist our growing Hispanic population on Hilton Head Island. Contact our Director of Spanish Ministry, spanish@holyfamilyhhi.org.
Community Building - Angel Tree, Bereavement Ministry, Ladies Guild, Knights of Columbus, Cursillo, Ministry to the Infirm/Homebound, Kairos Prison Ministry, Mom's & Tots, Parish Office Volunteers, Respect for Life, Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Saturday Morning Food Program and Welcoming Committee are parish outreach to our community and the community at large.
If you are interested in joining one of our ministries or see a need to start one, please contact the parish office at 785-2895 or email to info@holyfamilyhhi.org.
